Reflecting on a Decade As a Neurodivergent Entrepreneur
November 2023 marks 10 years since the founding of Redo Studios. As the owner and founder, I've experienced tremendous highs and lows over the past decade. It has been a time of immense change—both personally and globally.
The 2020s saw the rise of new social and economic challenges. From the COVID-19 pandemic to the housing crisis and issues of inflation, the external environment has been turbulent. However, through it all Redo Studios has endured thanks to perseverance, learning from mistakes, and maintaining a support system.
Grateful for Growth
I'm thankful for several aspects of my personal growth over the past 10 years. Meeting my life partner provided invaluable emotional support throughout the entrepreneurial journey. Improving my diet and reducing substances like alcohol, sugar and caffeine also boosted my well-being. And let's not forget, discovering matcha tea brought unexpected joy. I'm grateful these changes have helped both my physical and mental health.
Lessons Learned
Throughout this journey, I have discovered that I am neurodivergent and that explains a lot about my challenges and struggles. Learning and understanding that side of me is helping me overcoming them.
As an entrepreneur, there are always things we wish we could have done differently. Two of my biggest regrets were having clients relying almost exclusively on on-site customers and being unlucky with Covid-19 spreading a month after I bought a house. In hindsight, more emphasis on digital marketing may have expanded the business's reach and visibility during lockdowns. As you have probably guessed, this short article I hope will be the first of many.
Looking Ahead
Despite facing adversity, Redo Studios continues operating through a dedication to craft, service, and community. As I reflect on the past decade, gratitude fills my heart for all who helped along the way. With lessons learned firmly in mind, the future remains bright. This is just the beginning of the story for Redo Studios and its mission to uplift through creative works.
